Summer surviving face

 

She looks like shes angry at the ocean right? Its like shes saying "damn you water, damn you". Its because she is afraid of getting in the water and her makeup will come off and show how she REALLY looks.




Water can be such a sandy BEACH!! You know when that group of friends invite you to go to the beach or the lake and you are PMS-ing? Not only do you have to find a bathing suit that is going to be gracious of your bloating, hide your string, but also you now have to worry about covering up that WHORE-monal breakout. That's where I come in. I have done my research for you. No matter what the reason is for needing some waterproof coverage, I have the answers.

I will start with a brand that I have always loved and had much respect for. Makeup Forever. For those of you who have not heard of this brand they specialize in underWATER makeup. Not just water resistant, but you could literally take their products under water. The line was created for professional makeup artists that were looking for stuff they could use in their underwater films or photo shoots. They range in many colors and also have expanded their line to carry ALL types of products. My particular favorite would be the feather eyelashes. I do own a pair myself.... for some reason?

I would suggest Makeup Forever Face & Body is you are water worthy plans. It claims a water resistant wear but I would put it to the test because their stuff doesn't budge. The great thing about this is you can use it on your body as well, you know if you wanna look like a plastic Malibu Beach Barbie. Just sheer this in with some sunscreen and hit the pool, lake, ocean, pond, wet t-shirt contest, your choice really.
 

 Another favorite I have not only for water resistance but for every day wear is MAC Face and Body foundation. I wear this one myself and I wear the shit outta it. While working in MAC in northern California I had my next door neighbor come out of her house and ask me what the best foundation was for an airbrush finish. I referred her to this one and then later in the week she came out of her house to stop me and say that she LOVED it and it was "tear proof" it made me kinda sad that in such a short time she found out that is was tear proof but maybe thats just me being co-dependent. I mean did I go through her house and do a background check on her husband to make sure she was ok? Yea maybe, but whatever. jk. Anyways, It is a sheer to medium coverage and a semi dewy, natural satin finish. I love using this on my wedding clients because it has a 15 hour wear, water resistant, and a flawless airbrush finish. Couldn't be more fond of this precious beauty and one of the even better perks of this foundation is at MAC freestanding stores you can get it in two different sizes. Its also perfect for airbrush makeup if you use a mixing medium to sheer it out. I would kiss it if I could.





As Jay-Z would say... ON TO THE NEXT ONE.

This is also a great foundation to use especially if you are sweaty. This water resistant, sweat resistant, 15 hour wear, medium to full coverage, semi matte finish foundation. It has been in the MAC family for quite some time. MAC Pro Longwear Foundation is great for a girl on the go that does not have time to touch up her makeup after her intense workout, running throughout the city, late night date, at the same time posing for pictures in her super posh life. Or a stay at home mom. It is has a great build for more coverage and goes on very creamy. The only thing to look out for is letting it dry onto the skin cause after first application it can look very shiny. It also helps keep down oils that naturally comes out with sweat so you can get dirty and look clean. *wink wink* Kinda like Orbitz for the face.

And as Elizabeth Taylor would say to her husbands.... out with the old and in with the new.

This one is not actually a foundation but a spray. The reason I love Mehron Barrier setting spray that is perfect for before or after your makeup application. When I was in makeup school we had to apply makeup to each other every day that we had class to practice what we were learning. Well, I have very sensitive skin and so you can imagine a class full of students that are not totally sure what they are doing yet, mixed with all the different products they had in their kits ranging from dollar store makeup to dior, my skin FREAKED OUT. Or as the movie "White Chicks" would say, had a total BF.... BITCH FIT!!!! So I went and purchased this spray which creates a barrier between your skin and what you are putting on it. It saved my skin and my skin has been forever grateful. So basically this will help your skin before makeup and it will seal your makeup after you apply it. It also is great to help control oils. When working in film I will use this on men, they seem to be the oiliest creatures I have ever worked with.
