Red lip Wednesday

 

Recently there has been a trend going on with a lot of the boys in town that is "tie tuesdays" and every Tuesdays, you guessed it, they dress up and wear ties. Well, I thought that ladies should come together and have a day of Red lip Wednesdays. I bounced the idea around to a couple girls and they were totally on board, but then I guess I forgot about it as the week went on. I woke up Wednesday morning to find that a friend had posted a picture of her red lips and it says "Red lip Wednesday".  So, I quickly remembered and popped some red lips on and posted it myself. Funny to find how fast the word spread for the ladies because girls I hadn't even talked to about it were posting pictures and commenting that they were now going to be wearing red lips. I think I might have a trend starting. 

It is so great to see the different red lipsticks out there. LADIES, they are not all the same. We have some deep blue reds, we have some bright orangy reds, we have sheer reds, we have lady bug reds and some bright yellow reds. If you have ever said to yourself "I cannot pull off a red lip", well its very possible that you have just not found the right red for your skin tone or style. I try to stay away from lady bug reds and go more towards the deeper reds.

It is also a worry I hear that the red will wipe off too easy and leave your lips just looking stained. I know MAC, Stila, Makeup Forever, Estee Lauder have some great long wearing lipsticks. I try to avoid the kind that has the red on one side and the gloss on the other because those seem to dry out my lips.
