Frame It: Great Eye Makeup Makeup For Gals with Glasses

Something that I have observed through working in the industry and also working at a makeup counter, is that people who wear glasses tend to shy away from eyeshadow. I understand the concept of "what is the point of wearing eye makeup if you are covering it up with glasses?" However, being someone who has to wear glasses at night AND while reading, I choose to be blind to these excuses.

A good friend of mine asked me "how do I make my eyes pop under my glasses? Should I put more eyeshadow on? Go darker?" I had planned on making my own tutorial on how to do your makeup with glasses but due to recent technical difficulties, it will have to wait. However, after EXTENSIVE research I FINALLY found a video that I really like. She does a fantastic job by doing makeup on one eye with a deeper color and more dramatic look. Then on other eye a more natural, doe-eyed look. I fast forwarded through a little bit of the beginning starting at 1:00 min to really get to the good stuff. Its important to take away from this video that everyone is different. The colors she is using or how much she is using might be too much for you. Work with what you feel comfortable with. I would stick with more neutral colors to enhance your looks naturally. When wearing glasses, you want to work with colors that blend with your skin tone rather then grey-ish tones that may look too dark. Try these looks on and give me your feedback!

I also found some great examples of some celebrities that wear glasses and look fantastic with eye makeup on.

As you can clearly see, if you wear eyeshadow under your glasses you will turn into a beautiful celebrity, be able to afford lasik, and no longer have any issues with theses framed constraints! I joke I joke, I kid I kid. However, you can see in these examples that you should be able to enjoy wearing makeup even if you wear glasses. I love in Katy Perrys example that she draws attention to her eyes AND lips. Go bold or go home!

Do you wear glasses? Do you find yourself skipping eyeshadow because you feel you won't see it? If you do wear eye makeup, what pointers do YOU find helpful? I'd love to read your comments!
