Ombre-lievable!
So I know that we have all taken notice to the Ombre trend. It started with hair and then moved its way through every aspect of beauty and fashion.
Whether is its Ombre clothes
Ombre hair
Or Ombre lips
It is trending throughout every bloggers page and every makeup artists' instagram.
However, I raise a question. Is this trend meant to be seen and think "oh wow, that's pleasing to the eye" or is it meant to be worn?
In my experience as a makeup artist that has worked at a retail counter, I find that some customers are not interested in trend whatsoever, while other customers are very interested in what is the newest of the new. With all the training that I was given at that job, they were constantly updating us with what was filtering through our runways so we appeared to be the top makeup authority. We were also taught how to teach our customers about trend, because often times our newest product launches directly reflected trend.
As much as I agree with the importance of knowing about trend, I also see the importance of knowing when to apply it to my every day life and when to leave it on the runway, magazine etc.
Here is an example of someone taking trend very literal.
While this photo might do her lips some justice, two minutes into a conversation with someone this is going to be a swampy mess. The colors will blend... ESPECIALLY since there is gloss on it.
So this is my plea for you makeup lovers out there that love trend as much as I do, leave this one on the runway and for your hair.
Ain't no body got time to retouch that often.
MUAH!
