Gilded Eccentric

Recently I had the joy of being able to work with the ever-so talented, Brest Studios. Most specifically, Chelsea Brest and her debut clothing line, Gilded Eccentric.

She contacted me about a month before her shoot to ask if she could hire me for the look book of her line. She happened to be a fan of my infamous pink brows (that I used to rock with my pink hair) and so, trusted my creative directions. She sent me a couple images of her line and also the inspiration for the line. From there, I was to express what I thought would look good for the makeup. As I sat, and pulled all directions of my mind on which way to go and how I interpreted her line, I wrote back with this;

"I got a feeling of effortless dare. Meaning there is a desire for the woman to be daring but its almost too effortless for her. Her heart is beyond her on her journey to rage through life.

I read from here that there is something almost bad happening. As if you know she is in a bad situation while the photo is happening, yet her elegance is almost an invitation to continue.

I saw that she is a type of rock and roll that is sadistic. She is grunge to the soul because her heart is twisted.

I felt from her love that freely flows from her, yet she enjoys sitting in the darkness. She hangs her head at night, but she hangs her head and smiles.

Her life seems to be eternal, as if she has been from the renaissance and pranced her way though the ages."

Now, you will have to pardon me as I completely geeked out in my own world as I took these images and I tried to live in each one of them. To some people, being an artist and creating artistic direction is a job, to me, its an experience. My heart takes in the feeling and my mind projects a picture. That my friends, that's where I work from.

Whether it is a photo shoot or at a makeup counter, I take it all in and transform beauty.

With all that said, here are a few images from the shoot. I have not received all of them yet (because it was just a few days ago and it takes a while) but I really feel like with the talent of all the crew the entire shoot went exactly as it was supposed to.

Enjoy.

I also have some unedited close-ups of the makeup that I took with my phone. So you can see my direction for the makeup for the shoot.

I can only hope to get more projects, such as this one, to advance me forward but also to keep me inspired and inside myself. I want to reach into new parts of creativity and challenge myself to create something brilliant.

Till next time.

MUAH!
